Episode 16 All That Glitters Internet Soap Opera
“You did a wonderful job on the November issue of Glitter,” says William. “I think Julia would have been very happy with that tribute.”
“Thank you, William,” says John. “I always had the highest respect for Julia.”
“Unfortunately, not everyone shares that view,” says William. “Did you see the article in the Falling Star?”
“Yes,” says John. “It’s a shame that anyone would even use Julia’s death as an excuse to write about past scandals.”
“I understand the writer also works for the News,” says William.
“Really?” asks John. “Well, I wonder if the Steele family had anything to do with it?”

“Tracy, I’m just not cut out for this kind of work,” says Mark. “I hate sitting behind a desk and reconciling accounts.”
“We could put you in another department,” says Tracy.
“No,” says Mark. “It’s not that. Whatever department I’m in, I’m sitting behind a desk or making deals with other people. I don’t want that. I want to go out and have some fun.”
“You sound like a spoiled rich kid,” teases Tracy.
“Maybe I am,” says Mark. “Gems and jewelry, except to be admired, are just not my line.”
“What is your line?” asks Tracy.
“I want to open up a night club,” he responds. “I’m more of a night person, anyway. And it would fit in with the lifestyle I want.”
“That’s what you think now,” Tracy says, “but things don’t always turn out the way you might think. Anyhow, I don’t think Dad will take to kindly to that.”
“I know,” he says, “so I’m stuck at a desk unless I can find some way out. And these stupid accounts. I don’t know how Dan manages to enjoy doing this.”
“Here, I’ll look into these. After all, I was planning to take a look at everything and make sure they were in order.”
She quickly peruses the account printout. “Hmmm,” she says.
“Anything wrong?” asks Mark.
“I don’t know. I’ll have to look a little closer,” says Tracy.

Michael calls Amanda into his office. “Did you happen to see this week’s edition of Falling Star?” he asks.
“I barely have time to read my medical journals, so why would I have time for trashy ones?” Amanda responds.
“There’s an unflattering article on Julia Golde in there by Nicholas Cole.”
“And who is he?” asks Amanda.
“A writer for the News,” Michael says.
“What do you suppose that has to do with me?” asks Amanda.
“Well, he has to get his information from somewhere. And I can assure you that neither my family nor the Goldes would give out such details to an outsider.”
“Are you accusing me of being an informer? For your information, all I know of Julia Golde is her medical history. As for the family’s private history, I couldn’t care less and never delved into it. I have never laid eyes on Nicholas Cole, but what he chooses to write for other papers has nothing to do with my family. For that matter, what my family chooses to print has nothing whatever to do with me. And if that is all you wanted to discuss, I have much more important things to deal with right now.”
She storms out of his office.

“Oooooh,” cries Lisa. “I think this is the real thing, Rick. Please come home.”
“I’m leaving right now,” says Rick.
Lisa calls Dr. Ray. “Dr. Ray,” she says. “I think the baby’s coming. My water broke.”
“I’ll meet you at the hospital,” he says.
