Episode 33 All That Glitters Internet Soap Opera

“In light of recent events,” says Robert, “I think we should reconsider our position on Dan.”

“How do you mean?” asks Tracy.

“Don’t you suppose that he probably had nothing to do with it?” asks Robert.

“We can’t assume he had nothing to do with it,” says Tracy.

“How dare you say that about Dan!” interrupts Marie. “What do you have against him?”

“Now, Marie,” says Tom. “We’re handling this.” He goes to push Marie out of the door, but she shrugs him off.

“For your information, Dan was with me all that night,” says Marie. “At least he has an alibi.”

“Enough said,” says Robert. He turns to Tracy. “I can’t say that I believe Dan has anything to do with this. If he stole any jewelry, it wouldn’t have been left in a janitor’s closet.”

“Also, this box of diamonds came after Dan was suspended,” says Tom.

“An accomplice to help divert attention?” asks Tracy.

Robert sighs. “What do you have against Dan? Come on, Tracy. It’s almost Thanksgiving. We shouldn’t be having such a divisive family at this time.”

Tracy looks down at her desk and thinks for a moment. “I’m sorry. I don’t feel I have enough evidence to acquit Dan, but-”

“You don’t have evidence to hang him either,” says Marie.

“But for the sake of the family,” Tracy continues, “I will put aside my prejudices for now. Dan may come back, but with limited duties.”

“There’s no need for you to come in here right now,” says the guard.

“It’s my job to clean the floors,” says Floyd.

“It looks fine right now,” says the guard.

“My supervisor won’t like it if I slack off on the job,” Floyd persists.

“I’ll take the blame for that, then,” says the guard. “Besides, the doctors are coming in soon. Maybe you can clean up after that.” He bars the way, so Floyd is forced to turn around and leave.

“Honey, will you be able to make it for Thanksgiving dinner?” asks Carol, on the phone. “Steve and Laura will be in town, as well.”

“I don’t know, mom,” says Amanda. “I’ll do my best. They’re going to try to extubate Nicholas today and we’ll see how he does. If all goes well, I may not need to be at the hospital too long tomorrow.”

“You know we’re praying for him to pull through,” says Carol.

“Are we doing anything special for Thanksgiving, mom?” asks Tara.

“Not especially,” says Sylvia. “Why?”

“I was wondering if we can invite some people over,” says Tara.

“Oh? Like who?” asks Sylvia.

“Since I haven’t seen them much recently, I thought maybe we should invite the Diamonds over.”

“I don’t mind,” says Sylvia. “But do you think they’ll come?”

“I guess it depends if the Goldes invited them.”

“Hello, Mr. Cole,” says Dr. Shimmer. “Nice to see you awake.”

Nicholas turns his head to look at Dr. Shimmer.

“We’re going to take that tube out and see how you do,” says Dr. Shimmer. “Are you ready?”

Nicholas nods his head. Amanda comes up to the bed, cuts the tape around Nicholas’ face, then proceeds to slowly pull the tube out of his mouth. Nicholas gags and coughs.

“Feeling better now,” asks Dr. Shimmer.

Still coughing, Nicholas nods.

“Good,” says Dr. Shimmer. “I’ll leave you to Dr. Steele.” He leaves the room.

“I’ll have the nurses get you something to drink,” says Amanda. “Are you hungry?”

“A little,” says Nicholas in a hoarse voice. “But I don’t feel like eating.”

“You need to build up your strength,” says Amanda. “We can start with something light. You’ve been through a lot and the police will want to question you.”

“About what?” asks Nicholas.

“About what happened,” says Amanda.

“I can’t remember anything right now,” says Nicholas.
