“You can do as you like,” says Blanche. “I’m not going to stop you.”

“Why are you still so angry?” asks Lucy.

“Why should I be angry?” asks Blanche. “You’ve got your happy ending.”

“But this whole business has opened up some old wounds in you.”

“That’s for me to deal with,” says Blanche. “And I am not going to any psychiatrist. All they do is load you up with pills.”

“I want to help you.”

“Michael, I have a request to make of you,” says Phillip.

“Name it,” says Michael.

“I understand you handled Julia’s affairs.”

“Is something wrong with William’s new marriage? Julia did take into account that possibility.”

“Really?” asks Phillip, momentarily distracted. “I wasn’t aware of that. I don’t know anything about William’s marriage but I know his kids are not too happy about it. However, I came on a different issue.”

“Go ahead.”

“Whatever Julia’s interests are in Golde, Inc. will have to be reassessed. You realize that when Julia married into the family, they had a small jewelry business in town. She took it and made it a bigger concern. However, the small jewelry business had been thriving for several generations. William’s father was not the sole heir of the business, but that was hushed up due to scandal back then. I’d like you to look into it.”

“Are you going to tell me what I’m going to find out?”

“You’ll learn soon enough. But you’ll need to work through the legal tangle with the company’s lawyers. I may be stirring up a hornet’s nest, but everyone deserves their due. Don’t you agree?”

“Not yet,” says Gavin. “But everyone’s on the lookout now. All we can do is go back to Brighton.”

“This Cole guy is on to me,” says Carl. “I don’t know how he got his information.”

“And now he’s linked you to me,” says Buster Riley. “We’ll have to split for a while.”

“I’ve got no where to go right now,” says Carl.

“That’s your fault for screwing up so much lately,” says Buster. “Why don’t you go back to Brighton and sit tight.”

“The police will come after me,” says Carl.

“Go in another disguise,” says Buster. “Even if they do catch you, you’d only be charged with assault. Besides, you can blame that on Dimmerling.”

“I’m exhausted,” declares Carrie.

“I think we deserve a long break,” says Leslie. “The dresses are finally done.”

“Next, we need to arrange the shop. Do you think we’ll be ready for opening next week.”

“We’ve got to. We want to take advantage of the timing. If we wait too long, Belle Silverman may discover what we’re doing.”

“She’s going to discover it once we open.”

“But it’ll be too late for her.”

“The paternity test is in,” says Dr. Shimmer.

“Any surprises?” asks Amanda.

“Nope. David Golde is definitely the father. The courts will receive the results and will probably ask him to take Lucas.”

“We’ll have to wait and see what he decides to do.”
