Episode 77 All That Glitters Internet Soap Opera
“You gave up your rights?” asks Marie. “How could you do that to your own son?”
“Do you want to take him, Marie?” asks David. “Maybe he’d enjoy being one of your brood.”
“It’s disgraceful that we can’t give him a home. Mom would be ashamed of us.”
“If you want, you can appeal to the courts to take him.”
“Maybe I’ll do that. I’ll have to discuss it with Dan.”

“No! Don’t wanna go!” cries Lucas, throwing himself on the bed.
“Honey, I’m sorry,” says Amanda. “You can’t stay here.”
“Why?” Lucas sobs into his pillow.
“I’m not your mommy,” says Amanda.
“I don’t have a mommy.”
“But you will, soon. They’ll find you a mommy.”
“Don’t wanna mommy. Want you.”
Michael comes to the door and witnesses the scene. He closes the door and goes out to the living room. “He’s not taking it very well,” Michael says to the members of Children’s Services. “Can we give him a little time?”
“I’m afraid we can’t leave him here since Dr. Steele is not a registered foster parent,” says Mr. Stickle.
“And do you have a family ready to take him in?” asks Michael.
“Well, he will be placed in a children’s home until a family is found.”
“We were hoping to buy some time so that his parents’ friends can come up with a plan for him. I think it would be better for someone who knows him to take him in.”
“How much time do you need? We cannot keep this going indefinitely,” says Mr. Stickle.
“Give us until the end of the week”

“What do you think about taking Lucas in with us?” asks Lisa.
“It’s going to be difficult to find ourselves suddenly with two children, each a different age,” says Rick. “It’s not like we’re having twins.”
“No, but it’s like taking in a sibling.”
“That’s another point. I’m afraid that Lucas may remind me of Eileen’s paternity. I’ve accepted it but I don’t want it to continually be thrust in my face.”
“What about Lucas growing up not realizing he has a sister?”
“I’m sure we’ll all be here to remind him of that,” says Rick. “Regardless of who takes him in.”
“What’s your answer, then?” asks Lisa. “We need to inform Amanda.”

“When are you coming home with me?” asks Tom.
“I’m not making any progress with Mama,” says Lucy.
“Why should you care anymore? Look what she did to you.”
“She thought she was doing the right thing. I can’t excuse her, but I can’t just turn my back on her right now.”
“Do you think staying with her is going to change things? Maybe she needs some space to think things out.”
“Maybe you’re right. Maybe I’m reminding her too much of all that went wrong with the past.”
“Tell her you’re leaving. That may bring her out of her slump.”
