Episode 9 All That Glitters Internet Soap Opera

Dr. Shimmer drives out to Silver Moon Riding Stables to see Tara.  He watches Tara as she is giving lessons to a 10-year old handicapped girl.

“Good job, Serena.  You’re making excellent progress,” Tara says as she helps Serena down.  Serena smiles shyly.  “I’ll see you again next week.”

Tara walks over to Dr. Shimmer.  “Hello, Dr. Shimmer.  What brings you out here?”

“I am in need of help and thought you would be the perfect person.”

“Yeah?  What kind of help?”

“I need a special favor for someone.  He’s not young, he’s not poor and he’s not physically disabled.  In fact, he is the total opposite.  However, he is crippled in spirit and he’ll most likely refuse any help.  Yet he needs it desperately.”

“Why me?”

“Because the typical therapist would not make it past his front door.  You have a completely different approach and it might work.”

“What are you doing here, David?” asks Lisa.  “I thought I told you to leave me alone.”

“I thought I’d keep you company since Rick is working late.  I didn’t want you to get too lonely.”

“If you had any consideration for me, you’d be working harder so my husband could come home on time.”

“But where would be the fun for me?” David says as he tries to pull Lisa to him.

She pushes him away.  “Now is that how you’re going to treat your baby’s father?” he asks.

She glares at him angrily.  “How dare you say that!  You don’t know for sure it is your child.”

“More likely than not.”

“If you came here just to get me upset, I’d suggest you leave now.”

“I don’t want to get you upset.  I told you I was here to keep you company.  If you’d only be a little nicer, I could make you feel very good.”

Lisa jumps away from him and hits a side table, knocking down a picture that had been standing on it.  David picks it up and studies it.

“Who’s the little girl in the picture with Rick?” he asks.

“An old friend of his from back in Clearwater.  Some little girl who used to tag-along and hero-worship him.  Why?”

“She looks vaguely familiar.  What’s her name?”

“Amanda Steele,” she says, with a hint of malice in her voice.

David laughs.  “What’s so funny?” Lisa asks.

“Are you perhaps a little jealous, Lisa?”

“Why should I be?  Just because Rick talks about what a wonderful little girl she used to be?”

“Well, you might have something to worry about.”

“What do you mean?” Lisa asks.

“This chubby little girl has turned into a beautiful young woman.”

“How do you know?”

“She’s my mother’s new doctor.”
